Regular Season Round 9: Alkar - Kapfenberg 81-65

CroatianAlkar can celebrate finally their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Austrian Kapfenberg Bulls (1-4) 81-65 on Wednesday. Alkar forced 19 Kapfenberg turnovers. American forward DeAntoni Gordon (203-2000, college: Southern Miss, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Mladen Tomasevic (203-2003) chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Andrew Jones (193-1997, college: Texas) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Quinton Green (201-1998, college: Valpo) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alkar (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Peja. Loser Kapfenberg Bulls dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Gimle.
